## What does a Kopdes Merah Putih village cooperative manager do?

The manager runs the village cooperative's business day to day: drawing up business plans, handling stock and sales, serving members, keeping the books, using digital systems and coordinating with the board. The State Secretariat says these cooperatives run a cooperative office, staples supply, savings and loans, a clinic, a pharmacy, cold storage or warehousing, and logistics. Law 25/1992 Article 32 says a manager answers to the board, but during the two-year PKWT the manager's employer is the assigned state-owned company (Panselnas guideline, Chapter VIII).

- Draw up the cooperative's business plan and report to the board.
- Run business units such as the staples shop, savings and loans, warehousing and logistics, depending on what the cooperative operates.
- Handle stock, purchasing, sales and supplier relations.
- Record transactions and prepare financial reports with the treasurer and admin staff.
- Serve and register cooperative members.
- Use the cooperative information system for records and reporting.
- Coordinate with the village government, facilitators and outside partners.

## What are the selection requirements for Kopdes Merah Putih managers?

Under the 2026 Panselnas guideline, applicants were Indonesian citizens aged 20 to 35 at registration, with a D4 or bachelor's degree in any field for village cooperative managers (a D3 for some fishing-village posts) and a grade point average of at least 2.75. They must never have been sentenced to prison, not be candidate or serving civil servants, soldiers or police, not be party members or officials, be healthy, hold an SKCK and accept placement anywhere in Indonesia.

The official Panselnas announcement lists the post, education requirements, number of posts, schedule and conditions, and is published on the official portal. The description below is written by us from official documents and the usual duties of a cooperative manager; it is not a vacancy and has no apply button. The committee's integrity pact forbids creating WhatsApp groups that gather applicants, so such groups are not an official selection channel.

## How much does a Kopdes Merah Putih manager earn?

KarirAman does not show a pay figure for Kopdes managers because, as of 8 October 2026, we have found no official document stating it, and officials' statements in the media differ. On 5 August 2026 the Finance Minister denied a large salary figure that went viral on social media. ## What education and training does a village cooperative manager need?

Village cooperative managers must hold a D4 or bachelor's degree in any field; management, accounting, economics or agribusiness helps with the cooperative management test. Selection used BKN's computer-based test of cognitive aptitude and cooperative management, then an ideology test and health checks by the Ministry of Defence. Those who passed attended basic reserve-component military training, then management and field training from the Ministry of Cooperatives.

## Is a Kopdes manager a civil servant, and what happens after two years?

No, not a civil servant. The Panselnas guideline says successful candidates are proposed to an assigned state-owned company on a two-year fixed-term contract (PKWT) and sign a job offer letter. On 4 May 2026 the Coordinating Minister for Food said that company pays salaries during the PKWT and that managers would become cooperative officers after two years. The candidates' statement includes a two-year service bond; Panselnas Announcement 09/2026 of 17 June 2026 revoked the penalty for withdrawing. Check any bond or penalty clause in your offer letter and contract before signing.

**Legal status:** the Labour Protection Law was approved by the DPR and the Government on 6 October 2026 but has not been promulgated and its text is not public. Until it takes effect, the rules on this page apply.

## Which posts are there at Merah Putih fishing villages?

The 2026 selection opened four posts at each of 1,369 Merah Putih fishing villages (Kampung Nelayan Merah Putih): operations manager (D4 or bachelor's degree), head of production, quality assurance and finance administration (D3, D4 or bachelor's degree). Candidates took a marine and fisheries management test, and competence certificates in marine affairs and fisheries registered with the ministry broke ties. Field training is run by the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries.

## What about admin, cashier, warehouse and cooperative secretary jobs?

Those posts are different from the manager. The cooperative secretary is a board member elected from and by the members at the members' meeting (Law 25/1992 Article 29); the 2025 implementing guideline of the Minister of Cooperatives sets a board of at least five, including a secretary and a treasurer. Admin, cashier and warehouse staff are cooperative employees; on 15 July 2026 the Minister of Cooperatives said their pay is expected to come from each cooperative's business income.

## What were the stages of the 2026 Kopdes Merah Putih manager selection?

Panselnas Guideline No. 01 of 2026 sets out the planned schedule below. The guideline says schedule changes are announced on the official portal.

1. Selection announced: 15 April 2026.
2. Online registration at phtc.panselnas.go.id: 15 to 24 April 2026, one post per applicant.
3. Document screening: 15 to 25 April 2026, results on 26 to 27 April 2026.
4. Competence test on BKN's computer-based system (cognitive aptitude plus cooperative management, or marine and fisheries management): 3 to 12 May 2026.
5. Additional test by the Ministry of Defence (ideology test and health checks, bringing an SKCK): 20 to 31 May 2026.
6. Final results: 5 to 7 June 2026.
7. Basic reserve-component military training: 17 June to 16 July 2026, then management and field training: 17 to 31 July 2026.

The guideline's planned schedule ends with the management training and gives no placement date. According to the Ministry of Cooperatives as reported by Republika, managers received placement letters on 25 September 2026, and the Panselnas portal asked them to confirm at simkopdes.go.id by 28 September 2026.

## What should you check before confirming a placement or job offer?

Kopdes managers work on fixed-term contracts, so read the documents before you sign:

1. Make sure the placement and offer letters appear in your own SIMKOPDES account, not in a private message.
2. Check the employer's name, job title, location, contract length, pay, allowances and facilities in writing.

Yes. The 2026 Panselnas guideline includes Basic Military Training for the Reserve Component, run by the Ministry of Defence, as a stage after passing selection and before management training, and applicants sign a statement agreeing to take part.
