## What makes a good cover letter?

A good cover letter is short and specific: the position and where you saw it, two or three pieces of evidence that match the requirements, why you are interested, a list of attachments and contact details you check. One page is enough. Adapt the letter for each vacancy rather than sending the same one everywhere.

## Which personal details do not belong in a cover letter?

Many old Indonesian letter templates list place and date of birth, religion, marital status, height and weight. This template leaves them out on purpose. Circular M/6/HK.04/V/2025 bars discrimination in recruitment, and age limits are allowed only where the nature of the job genuinely affects ability. Give such details only if an official form asks for them.
