Which accessibility standard do we aim for?

KarirAman aims for the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, in the W3C Recommendation dated 12 December 2024, on every kind of page in both light and dark mode. We have not been audited independently and claim no certification. This page explains what we have done, what we have not done yet, and how to report a barrier.

Which features are available?

KarirAman is designed to work on low-cost phones, on slow connections and with assistive technology:

• Content pages are plain HTML that still reads without JavaScript. The job checker also shows its checklist without JavaScript.
• A "Skip to main content" link, page landmarks, one main heading per page and headings in order.
• Everything works with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator that is never hidden under the header.
• Text can be enlarged to twice its size and still reads on a 320-pixel-wide screen without sideways scrolling.
• Light and dark mode follow your device setting, with colour contrast checked in both modes.
• Statuses such as "High risk" are always shown with a word and an icon, never by colour alone.
• Tables have captions and column headers, with units in the headers.
• No autoplaying video, pop-ups, carousels or cookie banners. Animations are turned off when your device asks for reduced motion.
• Help and the "Report a fake job" link are in the same place on every page.
• Forms use visible labels and an error summary that links to each field, and never ask you to log in.
• Indonesian and English pages carry the correct language code, including for foreign terms inside the text.

How do we test accessibility?

Before every release, each kind of page is tested automatically with axe-core at screen widths of 360, 390 and 1280 pixels in light and dark mode, and the release is stopped if there is any violation. Automated tests do not catch every problem, so we also check pages with a keyboard only, check the contrast of form controls by hand, and test the main tasks with the TalkBack screen reader on an Android phone before launch.

Which limits do we know about?

As of 8 October 2026, the limits we know about are:

• Testing with the TalkBack screen reader is not finished. It is scheduled before launch.
• Official documents we link to, such as regulation PDFs on government websites, are outside our control, and some are scanned images that screen readers cannot read well. If you need the content, contact us and we will explain the part you need.
• The anti-bot check on the forms is a third-party service (Cloudflare Turnstile). If it blocks you, send your report by e-mail.
• English pages exist only for content a translator has reviewed, so some pages are available in Indonesian only.

How do I report an accessibility barrier?

E-mail halo@kariraman.com with the page link, what you were trying to do, what happened, and, if you are happy to share it, your device and assistive technology. We read every report, fix the problem where we can, and send you the content you need in another format while the fix is on its way. Meaningful fixes are also recorded in this page's change log.
