What does this figure measure?

In 19 provinces the average wage of employees is below the UMP. This can happen because the BPS average covers all employees, including those in micro and small businesses, which are exempt from the minimum wage rules. Why is this average different from salaries in job ads?

Ads show the pay offered for one position, often gross before deductions, and not always what is paid. The BPS average is the wage workers report receiving in the survey, across all jobs. Use the UMP or UMK in your area as the floor, and be wary of ads promising pay far above the market for jobs that need no experience.

What about salaries for a specific occupation?

This Sakernas release has no averages by occupation. KarirAman career pages show occupation-level pay only when the source meets our standard, and always show the minimum wage floor.
