Minister of Manpower Regulation 18/2024 says job seekers who are about to start work must have a SIAPkerja-ID. You get it by creating an account and filling in your profile on SIAPkerja, free of charge.

A passport is a required document for prospective migrant workers (Law 18/2017 Article 13), and Article 6 gives you the right to keep your travel documents while you work. Never hand over your passport as a guarantee.

Law 18/2017 Article 13 requires a health certificate based on medical and psychological checks. For jobs in Indonesia, get a health certificate only if the employer asks.

Regulation P2MI 2/2026 asks for a certificate from an independent certification body. If no scheme exists for the job, a diploma or another skills certificate can replace it.

Prospective migrant workers choose a job and upload documents through their own SISKOP2MI account, not through an intermediary's account.

Prospective migrant workers must join the work-accident (JKK) and death (JKM) programmes and may also join old-age savings (JHT). Registration runs through SISKOP2MI, linked to BPJS Ketenagakerjaan service channels.

All three are required documents under Law 18/2017 Article 13. On costs: migrant workers may not be charged placement costs (Law 18/2017 Article 30(1)); under Regulation P2MI 17/2025 the employer bears placement costs by default, and you may be charged only costs written and itemised in the Placement Agreement; any request for money outside that document, in cash or to a personal account, is a red flag.

How does this tool work?

What are the limits of this tool?
This list helps you prepare and does not replace official requirements. Employers, agencies or destination countries can ask for other documents, so follow the list from the employer or the official placement agency. Saved ticks exist only in this browser: if you clear browser data, use a private window or switch devices, they are gone. Do not save ticks on someone else's device.
