What are the steps to work in Germany through Triple Win programme for nurses?
- Make sure you are a registered nurse with a nursing diploma, an active STR and at least one year of work in a hospital, rehabilitation centre or care institution.
- Watch for BP2MI announcements of selection dates, then create a SISKOP2MI account in your own name and upload your application documents there.
- Go through recruitment at your local BP2MI office and the programme interview.
- Attend the A1 to B1 German course in Bandung and the nursing orientation; GIZ prepares your recognition documents.
- Attend employer interviews, sign the Placement Agreement and employment contract, then complete the medical check-up, measles vaccination and work visa.

Triple Win has been run since 2013 by the Central Foreign and Specialized Placement Office (ZAV) of Germany's Federal Employment Agency together with GIZ, under an agreement between the Federal Employment Agency and BP2MI. In Indonesia, selection and placement are handled by BP2MI, which now works as KP2MI/BP2MI. Because it is government to government, this route counts as placement by the Agency under Law 18/2017.

What happens with nursing recognition in Germany?
In Germany the titles Pflegefachfrau and Pflegefachmann may only be used with a permit, which requires equivalent training and the German needed to practise (PflBG sections 1 and 2). If Indonesian training is not equivalent, applicants prove their knowledge through a Kenntnisprüfung or an adaptation course of up to three years (section 40). Triple Win participants start this process after arriving in Germany. Outside the programme, AufenthG section 16d offers a residence permit for recognition measures, usually with at least A2 German, for up to 24 months and extendable to three years in total. Have an active STR from the Indonesian Health Council (KKI) before you apply.

What if my nursing education is not judged equivalent?
Under section 40 of Germany's Nursing Professions Act (PflBG), if your education is not equivalent you prove equivalent knowledge through a knowledge test (Kenntnisprüfung) or an adaptation course of up to three years ending with an exam. You may choose either.
