What is the minimum wage in Taiwan?

Taiwan sets a monthly and an hourly minimum wage. The 2027 figures were decided by the review council on 24 September 2026 and approved by the Executive Yuan on 1 October 2026. Live-in household caregivers and domestic helpers are not covered by Taiwan's Labor Standards Act, so the last row of the table follows a separate Ministry of Labor pay rule. All figures are official floors, not offered wages.

How much may an agency deduct from your pay in Taiwan?

According to Taiwan's Ministry of Labor, the only fee a Taiwanese agency may charge a foreign worker is a monthly service fee, with a cap that falls with each year worked in Taiwan (press releases of 2016 and 2018). It may be charged only after a written contract is signed and the service has actually been provided, never in advance, and the agency may not charge for a change of employer. A fee taken in advance or above the cap is a red flag. This fee is separate from placement costs in Indonesia, which Law 18/2017 Article 30(1) says may not be charged to Indonesian migrant workers.
