- If THR is late, the employer is fined 5% of the total THR. The fine does not remove the duty to pay the THR.
- If your contract, company regulations, collective agreement or custom gives a larger THR, the larger amount applies.

How is THR calculated?
THR is calculated from your monthly wage and length of service. Under Permenaker 6/2016 and circular M/3/HK.04.00/III/2026, workers with 12 months of service or more receive one month's wage. Service of 1 month up to under 12 months gives pro-rata THR: months of service divided by 12, times one month's wage. This applies to permanent (PKWTT) and fixed-term (PKWT) workers alike.

THR = months of service ÷ 12 × monthly wage, for 1 to 11 months of service; THR = 1 × monthly wage for 12 months or more.
The monthly wage is the clean wage without allowances, or basic wage including fixed allowances. For daily casual and piece-rate work, it is the average.

What does a THR calculation look like?
With the same monthly wage, THR rises with service up to 12 months and then stays at one month's wage. The table below calculates it with a sample wage.

Who is owed THR and when must it be paid?
THR must be paid to workers with 1 month or more of continuous service, permanent (PKWTT) and fixed-term (PKWT) alike. It is paid once a year for each worker's own religious holiday, at least 7 days before the holiday, in rupiah, in full and not in instalments.

Do you still get THR if your contract ends or you are dismissed before the holiday?
A permanent worker (PKWTT) dismissed within 30 days before the holiday is still owed THR for that year. This does not apply to a fixed-term worker (PKWT) whose contract ended before the holiday (Permenaker 6/2016 Article 7). The regulation does not mention workers who resign; ask the manpower office if that is your situation.
What can you do if THR is not paid, or paid in instalments?
Ask your employer in writing first. If that does not work, report through the Kemnaker THR post, which the 2026 circular links with posts in provinces and districts, or register the dispute with your local manpower office. Keep your payslips, contract and proof of service.

What are the limits of this THR calculator?
- The rules do not say how to count part months, so the calculator counts whole months only.
- This calculator is for workers in companies (Permenaker 6/2016). THR for public servants is set by other regulations.
- App-based drivers and couriers are covered by circular M/4/HK.04.00/III/2026 on a holiday bonus, which is not calculated here.
- The calculator does not work out tax on THR.
