Indonesians need a Turkish work permit (çalışma izni) before starting work. Visa-free entry is not a work permit. Process, minimum wage, red flags.

What is the official process to work in Turkey?
A Turkish work permit applied for from abroad has two stages. You apply in person at the Turkish embassy or consulate general and receive a 16-digit reference number, then the employer completes the application online in the e-İzin system of Turkey's Ministry of Labour and Social Security. If an agency in Indonesia is involved, it must be an active P3MI on SISKOP2MI, and you can check the vacancy in the SISKOP2MI job list by destination.
What is the minimum wage in Turkey?
Turkey sets one national minimum wage, and for 2026 it is set per normal working day by the Minimum Wage Determination Commission (decision No. 2025/1), valid from 1 January to 31 December 2026. The figure below is a gross daily amount, not an offered wage.

How can you check a job offer in Turkey?
Ask the employer for proof of the work permit application in your name; the Turkish ministry has a work permit query service (Çalışma İzni Sorgulama) on its official site. Refuse offers to travel visa-free or on a tourist visa with the 'work permit to follow', because the permit must exist before you start work. Any cost charged to you must be written and itemised in the Placement Agreement.
