What does a PKH social facilitator do?

A PKH facilitator supports families in the Family Hope Programme (Program Keluarga Harapan), the social ministry's conditional cash aid for poor and vulnerable families, such as households with a pregnant woman, school children, a person with a severe disability or an older person. Under Article 49 of Social Affairs Minister Regulation 1/2018, facilitators make sure aid arrives in the right amount to the right people, lead family capability meetings at least monthly and help families reach services and complementary aid.

What are the requirements to become a PKH facilitator now?

The social ministry describes PKH facilitators' current status as ASN PPPK, and in October 2025 the social minister addressed facilitators who had been sworn in as PPPK. Entry therefore follows the civil service (ASN) selection with the requirements and formations the government announces, and Article 66 of Law 20/2023 bars government agencies from appointing non-ASN staff. The PKH staff code of ethics also bars other paid work that can cut into working hours.

What does a typical PKH facilitator job description look like?

PKH facilitators are not recruited through open job ads, because government agencies may only appoint civil servants (ASN). In May 2025 the communications ministry's hoax report carried the social ministry's clarification that social-media posts about recruiting replacement PKH facilitators in 2025 were untrue. How much do PKH facilitators earn?

As PPPK staff, PKH facilitators are paid under the presidential regulation on PPPK pay and allowances, but KarirAman has not verified the grade of the PKH facilitator formation, so we do not show figures yet. The minimum-wage row in the table is a general reference only: under Article 23 of Government Regulation 36/2021 the minimum wage binds employers towards their workers, not PPPK pay. The ministry says facilitators proven to have held other jobs in 2025 must repay salary.

What education suits a PKH facilitator?

No single degree is required for PKH facilitators; the qualification follows the civil service formation that is opened. Social welfare or social work backgrounds are the most relevant. Article 21 of Law 14/2019 names a bachelor's in social welfare, an applied bachelor's in social work, or a related social science degree as the entry requirement for professional social work education, the route to becoming a certified social worker.

Are PKH facilitators civil servants or PPPK staff?

PKH facilitators now hold ASN PPPK status. In October 2025 the social minister reminded facilitators who had been sworn in as PPPK not to accept anything beyond their entitlements because civil service rules are strict, and in April 2026 the ministry called that status a sign of the state's trust. According to the ministry, almost 500 facilitators received warning letters during 2025 and 49 were dismissed.

How is a PKH facilitator different from a professional social worker?

What can PKH recipients do if someone asks them for money?

PKH aid belongs to the recipient family, and facilitators may not cut it or charge levies. If you are asked to hand over part of your aid, pay an "admin fee" or leave your aid card with someone:

  1. Do not hand your aid card, PIN or savings book to anyone, including someone who says they are your facilitator.
  2. Write down the date, the amount requested and the person's name. Keep messages or other evidence.

  4. If money has been taken or you were threatened, report it to the police as well.

    What to do: Do not transfer anything. The Ministry of Manpower says legitimate recruitment does not charge applicants.

  • The interview is held in a hotel room, a private house or another closed place that is not an office, or the location keeps changing. An invitation to stay overnight, or any sexual demand, as a condition for being hired or for renewing a contract is also a warning sign.

    What to do: Ask for the interview at the office or a public place, tell someone close to you where you are, and leave if you feel unsafe. Sexual demands can be reported to the police or the local manpower office (Disnaker). If you are in danger, call the police.

The officially recorded scam is fake PKH facilitator recruitment: in May 2025 the social ministry, through the communications ministry's hoax report, said a TikTok post about recruiting replacement PKH facilitators was untrue and pointed people to kemensos.go.id. Also beware of paid promises of a placement as a civil servant. The civil service agency (BKN) says ASN selection carries no fee of any kind.

Can a PKH facilitator have another job?
