Which education routes lead to accounting jobs?

Common routes into accounting are an SMK accounting programme, a D3 in accounting or an S1 in accounting. D1 to S1 graduates can gain experience through Kemnaker's National Apprenticeship Programme, while SMA or SMK graduates can take free vocational training on Skillhub. A competency certificate from a BNSP-licensed LSP and tax training strengthen your application. To become a public accountant, you need to pass the public accountant professional exam.

What working hours, overtime and social security apply to accounting staff?

Accounting staff usually work office hours but often work overtime around month-end closing and tax deadlines.   • The interview is held in a hotel room, a private house or another closed place that is not an office, or the location keeps changing. An invitation to stay overnight, or any sexual demand, as a condition for being hired or for renewing a contract is also a warning sign.
